In this story, you’ll hear about how an 11-year-old girl’s love for travel blossomed after discovering Eutrave, and how she shared her own magical journey across Europe.
Hi, I’m Ava, and I’m 11 years old. I live in Bristol, UK, and I love traveling with my parents. I’m not a writer like the others on Eutrave, but I wanted to share my story because this website made me feel like I could be a real traveler too!
It started when my dad was planning our summer holiday to Europe. I was sitting next to him when he found Eutrave. As he scrolled through stories of hidden places in Italy and adventures in Switzerland, I was hooked. The stories felt like they were written just for me—like I was part of them.
I asked Dad if I could write my own travel story, and he laughed but said, “Why not?” That’s how my adventure with Eutrave began.
That summer, my parents and I went on a two-week trip to Europe. We visited Paris, Rome, and Barcelona. But my favorite place wasn’t a big famous city—it was a little town in the Alps called Chamonix.
I remember standing under Mont Blanc, the tallest mountain in Europe, with snow all around us even though it was July! We rode a cable car high into the mountains, and it felt like we were touching the clouds.
In Paris, we skipped the long lines at the Eiffel Tower and instead had a picnic near the Seine River. In Rome, we didn’t just visit the Colosseum—we found a quiet gelato shop where the owner let me try almost every flavor!
I wrote everything down in a little notebook. I didn’t want to forget a thing.
When we came home, I asked my parents if I could send my story to Eutrave. I wasn’t sure if they’d take it seriously, but a week later, I got an email. My story was going to be published! I couldn’t stop smiling.
What I Learned
I learned that you don’t have to be a grown-up to share your stories. Traveling isn’t just for adults—it’s for everyone, even kids like me. Writing about my trip helped me remember the little moments that made it special.
A Message to Other Young Travelers
If you’re reading this and you love traveling with your family, write about it! You don’t need fancy words, just your own experiences. I hope more kids send their stories to Eutrave because adventures are meant to be shared.
